Stan Lee has created an original new comic book titled NITRON, along with Keya Morgan and Michael Benaroya, and through Benaroya Pictures they are developing and producing a transmedia franchise around the new comic book that will see it brought to life through feature films, TV and online/digital platforms.

As reported in Variety, legendary comic book creator Stan Lee has added a new character to his mighty roster: Nitron. The writer behind characters like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the Hulk, Thor, the X-Men, the Avengers and many more will produce a new comic book series called “Nitron.” The new franchise will then target films, television and digital media, all to be produced by Benaroya Pictures.

Stan Lee co-created almost all of the main Marvel heroes and villains over fifty years ago, including iconic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, The X-Men, the Hulk, and the Avengers… just to name a few. Although he has long since stopped writing or editing comics at Marvel (despite all those Marvel Studios movie cameos he makes) that doesn’t mean he’s stopped creating, even at 93 years young.

On the eve of Comic-Con, iconic creator Stan Lee has unveiled “Nitron” as a new comic-book character franchise aimed at feature films, TV and digital platforms.

Lee, the creator of such characters as Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, X-Men, the Avengers and Iron Man, is partnering with Keya Morgan and Michael Benaroya on “Nitron,” which revolves around a highly intelligent and advanced species of Nitronians who covertly live on modern day Earth.

Stan Lee, Benaroya Pictures launch ‘Nitron’

Benaroya Pictures as anchor investor has secured an initial $50m fund for Michael Benaroya and content creator and historian Keya Morgan to adapt the six-part comic book across multiple platforms. The first edition of the series will arrive in stores and on digital devices in January 2017, followed by subsequent installments on a monthly basis. Benaroya Publishing, a Benaroya Pictures subsidiary founded in 2009, will publish the comic book.

Stan Lee Is Already Planning To Bring A Brand New Superhero To The Big Screen

Stan Lee will always be best remembered as the writer who created many of Marvel’s most famous heroes and villains, but it recent years, he’s been branching off beyond the House of Ideas. His new projects have ranged from creating the Indian hero Chakra the Invincible to helping make he British series Lucky Man. Now with San Diego Comic-Con almost ready to kick off, it’s been announced that Lee already has another superhero project called Nitron in development, which will have a big future on both the big screen and other forms of media.
